im lost. my car was making a krrrrrrrrrr sound when accelerating at first. that got louder over time. yesterday all of a sudden it became a load screetching knocking sound. comming from the engine more precise i think from the cyl head. any ideas would be great. checked the timing and cam timing all in order. it sounds as if a valve is touching a piston but how if timing is in order.

check the camshafts they come loose over time especially if hitting recv limiter frequently
