While we are on the subject, what sort of time have people been getting?
I did a run today using VAG-COM:
0 to 60 mph: 4.5 +- 0.67s
1/4 mile: 12.7 +- 0.67s, @113 mph
30-130 mph: 15.6 +- 0.74s
660 feet: 8.4 +- 0.68s, @91 mph
I think I could do better because the wheelspin in 1st & 2nd was alarming! The figures look OK to me though as I didn't light it up off the line and the 1/4 mile time is virtually identical to the one I got at Santa Pod in September when I drove it the same way
I'm not sure how accurate VAG-COM is, although I do still use standard wheels & tyres.
Come on then, post em up |

Yes, but only just. I think you moved the rev limiter up a bit when you remapped mine? |

Is the rev limiter 7k? I think mine revs to 7200k or 7250k now. |

I havent used Vag Com for it, but I do have a GTech Competition meter... I think bluebrakes has it at the moment, managed a 0-60 of under 4 seconds on that |

I dont have my Vagcom with me, will try this out soon.
Max speed in 1st is approx 40MPH - David did you start in 2nd or 1st? I would have thought 2nd give the best time?
Cheers, |

Yeah second Leon. You just select a measuring block that shows vehicle speed and it comes up with an accelerate button. Press that and enter 30 & 130 in the MPH range on the right hand side and you're off
Like I said, different wheels will make a difference, you may need a GPS of some sort to adjust the speeds. |

Is vagcom really good enough to get reliable results.
Remember, the computer is having to send request data signals every few milliseconds to the OBD lead. The lead itself doesn't have it's own internal data recording memory nor does it have an internal clock.
Plus you have the lag of the computer itself.
I wouldn't trust the results.
A gtech on the otherhand... |

I'd have thought it would be reasonable as the lag would be consistant from start to finish, so the whole thing is going to be slightly offset - assuming the lag is more or less consistant of course.
If it gets more laggy as more time passes then obviously it would be inaccurate. |

I'll bet £20 (to go into the Audisrs charity kitty) that the results aren't accurate to 2 seconds over a period of 1.5 mins. |
