I'm surprised you got such a good quote? Who have you tried?

Have you tried the club sponsors?

Thank you, I will get in contact with them

Hi,
Did you managed to get a quotation from ourselves at all?
Regards,
Dan.

Hi Dan,

I requested a quote on your website but it told me that I should call in instead. I am test driving one next week so if I decide to buy I will give you a call with the exact details of the car.

Is it likely that you will be able to offer cover?

Tom

I am 23, currently driving an A5 and have one year no claims. I only passed my test about 13 months ago so obviously my stats are a red light for most insurance companies, especially where high powered cars are concerned.

The R8 I am looking at buying is a 2012 v10 manual model worth about 80k.

The best quote I have managed to get from a 'high street' insurer so far was just shy of 4000 with 1500 excess. Would I be able to get a better quote from someone more specialised?

Appreciate any advice

You sound distinctly like a young chap who asked exactly the same question a year or two back who was dreaming about buying such a car. Turns out it was only that. Honestly, all the info you require is on google, you will have to process your information through each insurer to get a specific quote anyhow, so asking people here is not indicative of what sort of price you will get with the same insurer given your particulars will be different.

Ive been around long enough to know when someone of your age is honestly good for the money to buy a car like that, they do not come onto a public former asking / worrying about where to get it insured and the cost. You are BS ing / dreaming.
