Hello Ladies and Gentlemen and a warm welcome from a cold & wet Glasgow, but please allow me to introduce myself.... I'm John, a 60 year old disabled man (well Geordie really but I think that still qualifies me  ) and have just bought my first Audi, and, It's a lovely little 3.2 Mk1 with dsg and I love it, also got a Lexus for my bad days when I struggle to get in and out of the tt. Now some of you might day "why the hell buy something like that when you can't use it all the time" well, the answer is simple.... for the times I can!!
I love driving and with so much time on my hands since being medically forced to retire early, when I can I love to get out in the tt. Prior to the tt I had a Brabus Smart roadster which I just loved but had to let it go as it was just too low for me to use so after a wee trawl through the classifieds for so divine inspiration I stumbled across the tt, went to see and drive it and bought it on the spot. One thing I found after driving my roadster was I really didn't like the stock steering wheel on the tt cos it was shiny and smooth so I bought a remanufactured wheel made to my spec, re-profiled, 5-6 mm thicker with very pronounced thumbs and it has elevated the pure pleasure of driving to another level, something I thought I'd lost along with my roadster.
There's always a "But" to these stories and mine is the airbag and esp lights stayed on, so, I bought a vw/audi handheld code reader which gave me the codes and I was able to reset the airbag light but not the esp. I've read so many conflicting theories and remedies that it scares me, plus, I don't have a VAG-COM or access to one so I was kinda hoping if there is anyone near me who could sort this for me before I take it to an audi specialist where even at their rates being less than audi direct, my pension won't go far especially since there's a big hole in my bank balance which is tt shaped, then I'd be happy to pay you for your time. As I said I am In the west end of Glasgow and my contact details are on my profile.
I'm sorry this has been so convoluted to get here but like I also said I have nothing but time, and I'm looking forward to a long and enlightening association with you guys here at AudiSRS.
Best wishes
John

Hi John, I do know there's a whole "Glasgow massif" in the A8 community (mainly West of town) and there's at least one of them with VCDS.

A few A8/S8 owners lurk here though I'm not sure if any of them are local to you.

Cheers for that, hopefully someone local to me with a VCDS will read this and come to my aid. There are very good people here in Glasgow, I've always felt an affinity between us Geordies and the Glasweagans. If anyone within a fifty mile radius of me that could help mi I'd be more than happy to drive to you and pay for your time.
Thanks again for the welcome
John
