Car started making a horrid noise the day before I drove back to London from Ireland. Made it over ok as I had suspected the power steering pump was at fault. Seems it is the pump and now need to replace it. Is this a front end off job? Am I best to replace the tensioner also for the belt?

have you ensured theres actually fluid in it?

Mine did that once. reservoir was empty. i thaught the worst, thinking the rack seals had gone etc etc. Then found a slightly loose jubilee clip on the PAS cooler.

That said, if you've driven it for miles and miles with no fluid, the pumps probably knackered now

Yeah you'll need the front ebd at least budged forward for access, think its do-able without removing the front end.

Did mine not too long ago, you just need to pull the bumper forwards into service position, there is enough access then with the YPipe etc out of the way. There are a couple of pics in my thread, I just did a google search and read a few posts from others who had done it. There are a few good threads on a number of forums.

Thanks mate. I'm assuming you didn't change the tensioner and just did the belt and pump?
