Haven't updated this in a bit!.....

Good result on the odometer... Well here's hopefully a link to my YouTube channel showing the result of an hour down the garage !!

I've now had it all back together and on the road and everything is working again! Happy days...

https://youtu.be/5E13G8ZsEXE

Link

This was the original list of jobs from when getting the car copied from page one! As always the list has grown! Haha.

Change front wings - rusty -
Change rear discs and pads - needs doing tbh..
Change rear caliper n/s/r - sticking..
Change front discs and pads - wobble under braking and are getting low anyway.
Drivers door handle - its a bit loose..
Cv joints - starting to make a clicking noise..
Odometer and trip - not working, could be a cog on the inside which is worn..
Sunroof slide - tilt works, slide doesn't
Front floor mats - needs some..
Foam bit at front under bonnet - missing on one side
Balance original wheels - just because..

Buy spigot rings - done
Bonnet adjust for closing - done
Balance Oz wheels - done
Check slider pins on rear brakes - done

So now the list looks more like this.......

Stick trim on car front wings-
Boot latch light switch -
Door light switch -
Sun visor clips -
Change thermostat -
Top up coolant level -
Cv joints -
Sunroof slide -
Front floor mats -
Balance original wheels -

Drivers door trim - done
Odometer and trip - done
Drivers door handle - done
Change rear discs and pads - done
Change rear caliper n/s/r - done
Change front discs and pads - done
Front wings - done
Check slider pins on rear brakes - done
Foam bit at front under bonnet - done
Buy spigot rings - done
Bonnet adjust for closing - done
Balance Oz wheels - done
Refurbished calipers and carriers all round incl new slider pins and seals

I'm sure the list will get longer! Haha....

So yeh since the brake bleeding I've ran it a few times to try and get to the bottom of the odometer and trip not working, which I now have!  Separate thread about that.  Basically the small cog needed replaced, there was a tiny bit of the old cog left over, and then after a few attempts to get it working I eventually had it on my ramp and running in second gear whilst the cluster was taken apart and I could see the cogs going round, all looked good, so a put it all back together again and when I then took it out, things were working!  Happy days!

Other things I've been doing are all small jobs to tidy the car up... The drivers door trim was the bit at the bottom of the door that on mine was coming away at the rear, so I sourced a replacement from a breaker (got lots of wee bits from it) and changed it over. Turns out there was a lot of the clips behind the trim missing and it was glued on.  So I've replaced the clips and put the replacement trim on. Much better!

Changed over the door handle window winder on the drivers door, very straight forward job once I'd worked out that the plastic bt covering the handle slides off. So I've replaced that and whilst at it I replaced a rear one as it had a silver insert on the knob of the handle instead, like the others, a dark insert, so they all match now! (Spare handle complete if anyone wants to buy it!)

Been investigating also as to why my interior light, when selected to doors is constantly on, turns out to be the small switch, near the door latch ring, that goes in when the door is shut is actually broken on the drivers side.  So I'll be going back to the breaker for one of these.  I'll grab them all probably.  Whilst investigating this fault it was suggested that the central locking pump, in the boot offside, may be the cause, so I got a spare one, and changed this over.  This made no difference to the fault clearly as the fault lay with the broken pin switch! Haha, should have checked those first!  Anyway, no probs, now got a spare central locking pump, again for sale if anyone wants one!

Yesterday I changed over the steering wheel for a three spoke one.. (Some will have seen the pics on FB no doubt).  I'll drive it and see what it's like but I may sell it on.  It does look pretty cool though! Haha

Then last night I got round to changing the front brake disc! Why? I hear you ask!  Well it occurred to me after reading a brake thread, post fitting mine, that the front discs were the wrong size on the front!  I'd put on the smaller option, 256mm from memory and they should have been 280mm!  So yeh, got the 280mm vented discs on there last night, happy!

That's about it... I'll fire up a few photos...

Spare central locking pump..

Broken pin on the drivers side for the interior light switch...

Passenger side one...should have been obvious really! Haha

My four spoke steering wheel...

The replacement three spoke....

Quick wash yesterday..

Been out at the car and had a look at the door... it appears that the pin is why it's loose.  Not too sure how this happens, as the passenger side is rock solid.

I'll try and attach a photo and a video of what I mean. I suppose i could either replace the whole bracket from a doner or still maybe just adjust the door up so that it sits better.

Another thing i got done today was to put the four rings on the back.  I had silver and black so thought i'd go with the black.  I do think the back end looks better now.
