Iirc that write up also isn't correct, I bought some of mad baja's shims and he states f type diffs only on his listing I'm sure.

Ok, frustrating, like I said that was desktop research. I'll attempt it at some point when I get the shims.

Just double checked, it's e type diffs not f type, but he does state they only fit  on e type of diffs.

I've done > dozen of these.

E type diffs only, for that shim thickness.

Diff can be removed with the box in the car, yes. Just drain the oil, move the rear driveshaft off to the side and undo the 6 torx bolts holding the end of the box (and the heatshield) on.

Watch out for the spring, shim(s) and a conical washer which will likely fall out. They have to go back in the correct position/orientation/order, of course.

The center diff simply pulls out of the box at that point.

You only need to remove 2 of the roll pins and 2 sets of the helical gears, to get the center out and modded.

I use a dremel to make a mark on the gears and housing, instead of trying to find and line up the tiny tiny letter on the gears, as that Stasis guide suggests doing.

What's the cost to do this Jock?

I think I have the washers somewhere and have had them for around 8 years but never had them fitted.

I've asked a couple of shops for quotes to make shins.

I spoke to an engineering shop last week, and I don't think they had the right equipment to do it...

The specs are:

OD 51.83mm
ID 35mm
Thickness 1.98mm

I spoke to Baja last week again - Regarding tolerances he's always aimed to be withing +-0.02mm of these specs.

He also added that the only places that would be able to make these properly would be machine shops with surface grinders...

If I get the chance try contact a few more later this week... Hopefully that info helps though!?

Thanks, I actually found the specs, I've got a couple of precision shops coming back to me so I'll keep you updated.
