Can anybody shed light on what this is likely to be? Got fault code for nav  plus unit-
00862- Antenna for GPS navigation (R50/R52) 36-00 - open circuit. I have checked the connections on the back of the unit and at the antenna to the roof Ariel and they seem fine, I did notice another plug connector not plugged into anything but couldn't find anything to plug it into, maybe something else but not sure, looked very similar to the Ariel connections.
I have really bad radio reception and my screen is flickering, suspect the screen flicker is the head unit though.

Probably your GPS antenna has failed. They are powered units with active circuits inside.
Buy a cheap (powered) replacement on eBay and stick it somewhere convenient (e.g. bottom corner of windscreen on the dash) to test.

Though given the other issues, maybe the whole RNS has failed?

Where is the missing connection in this picture (radio is bottom left, GPS top right)?

The connections in the back if the unit are all present and correct, the lead that I found that was not attached to anything is up next to the ariel just underneath the very rear of the headlining. I would just buy a good secondhand unit but I'm struggling to find one unless I get it from Germany on ebay, they seem to have loads of them but wasn't sure if I may have problems because it's European?

Does the buttons panel not come off the front when you take the units to pieces?  Use your faceplate and your buttons panel too?

I have no idea if the buttons come off with the faceplate to be honest, I would need to be sure and also that the unit is completely compatible.
